Mobile comms market on the rise

A new study has predicted that recent growth in VoIP and Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystems markets will be worth $8.4 billion (£4.2 billion) in 2011.

The Infonetics study also found that there were around 80 million VoIP subscribers worldwide in 2007.

Core mobile data communications products are also set to see a period of growth as businesses look to integrate remote working capabilities in to their commercial structure.

Sales of such equipment grew by 19 per cent between 2006 and 2007, with some core equipment sales doubling year on year, the study finds.

A recent report has also found that VoIP products are becoming increasingly adaptable to individual business communications requirements.

"The VoIP business solutions that are currently available are tailor-made to cater to the needs and requirements of business establishments," asserts the TMCnet report.

VoIP solutions can help businesses reduce operational costs and increase international call volumes, it claims.
