Extra features of VoIP 'can make firms seem professional'

The extra features associated with VoIP means that firms using the technology present a more professional image, it has been claimed. According to Samuel Schneider, marketing director at Bandwidth.com, this is especially true for small businesses who may find that adopting the use of VoIP and taking advantage of the benefits it has over landlines may help smaller firms give the impression they are in the same league as larger companies. Commenting on features such as voicemail and auto attendant, Mr Schneider added: "Voicemail is nearly ubiquitous, but auto attendant is not, and it offers small businesses a way to project a much more professional image to customers." The cost savings VoIP can offer are a further reason small businesses may utilise it, he continued. A survey published by Silicon.com and the Bathwick Group highlighted that in 2006 some 60 per cent of small businesses were considering investing in VoIP during the next year.  |
