Conference 'positive for VoIP sector'

Enterprises, internet service providers and telecommunications firms believe "nobody can go wrong" by adopting VoIP services, it is claimed. Sathya Ashok, writing on itp.net, said speakers at the event were roundly positive about the sector. Discussions concerned many aspects of VoIP, including how the technology can be used to be more efficient and what providers can do to face increasing competition. Ms Ashok told the website it was likely responses were positive as VoIP is "easy to like". She said such services allow telecommunications providers to "differentiate themselves based on the value added services they provide and application developers get a new playfield". Examples from Europe she said, demonstrated how the wider adoption of VoIP is "transforming communication for businesses and consumers". Wales was recently held up as a positive example at an ICT conference in the country. Local government in Wales was commended for how it interacts with the telecommunications industry.
