VoIP 'allows de-cluttered working spaces'

VoIP offers users a range of benefits in addition to cost savings, it has been claimed. According to findinarticles.com, businesses which deploy VoIP will be able to realise lower costs as they will reduce the number of bills they have to deal with. However, further advantages to the business communication tool are noted, including that using VoIP can allow technologies to be consolidated and office environments simplified. The article claimed: "You already have a computer and an internet connection, why should you clutter your living or working space with more equipment to do things that the computer and internet connection can handle?" In addition, 'tech envy' or being able to stay ahead of rivals by using the latest developments, is suggested to be a benefit of VoIP, as are the features that the solution provides, such as the ability to forward missed calls to another telephone number. Last week, Paul Segre, president and chief executive of Genesys, wrote on tmcnet.com that contact centres are increasingly adopting IP telephony to consolidate and centralise their infrastructure.
