Businesses urged to consider VoIP features

Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) technology can offer businesses a variety of additional features that can be of benefit, it has been claimed.

According to industry news provider ZDnet, VoIP can provide a variety of extra functions, including tailored features from specific organisations and providers.

In an earlier report, ZDNet suggested that among the most desirable functions are caller ID and call forwarding.

The website suggested that those considering purchasing VoIP services ought to think which package offers the best level of functionality.

"Despite the costs coming down, the enterprises must opt for the provider that offers varied value-added services and features," it added.

This approach is most pragmatic as different types of businesses are likely to have varying budgets to spend on such services.
In other news, Philip Rosedale, founder of Second Life, recently suggested that the take-up of VoIP will largely come down to the level of investment made in the UK’s broadband infrastructure.
