Unified communications benefits praised

The benefits offered by unified communications systems have been recognised by a US telecoms provider.

Logicalis states that collaboration, unified client facilities and integrated contact centres are the three top reasons for businesses to put a combined data and voice solutions system in place.

The benefits seen in improved customer contact is making the implementation of unified communications systems an automatic choice, the company state.

"If customer relationship management is all about increasing touch points, then unified communications is like a full-contact sport," a spokesperson emphasises.

The statements come after a recent report outlining seven top ways to best introduce a unified system to existing business models.

Recommendations from Dimensions Data include ensuring that communications systems best reflect the business environment by analysing data priorities.

The group also suggests assessing all potential security issues before committing to communication architecture, as well as ensuring ongoing support systems are in place after a unified structure is adopted.
