Unified communications 'address business issues'

An industry expert has hailed unified communications technology as a solution to modern business problems such as time management and project co-ordination.

Writing in the Financial Times, Mike Zafirovski has today advised businesses to adopt new unification technology in order to streamline business activity.

He cites a growing number of competing technologies that are making effective business communications difficult.

He adds that only by integrating them in a managed solution can workers best utilise increasingly complex and necessary communications technologies.

"Imagine what is possible when communications functions ... are integrated into a company's business applications and workflow processes, whether that be billing, inventory, order management, or e-mail," he writes.

A growing number of British businesses are converting to unified communications in an effort to streamline services, including airlines and financial services companies, as well as the emergency services.
