Women could cause remote working rise

Women may cause a surge in remote working as they wish to spend more time with their families and less at the office, according to a source.

Psychologies magazine recently conducted research which found 65 per cent of women want a job which fits their life and 60 per cent want to spend more time with their family.

Maureen Rice, editor of the publication, believes this may have a large impact on the way we all work as women demand shorter working hours and more flexibility.

The instances of remote working may increase as women look for employment which fits into their personal life and creates a better work-life balance.

Ms Rice said: "It's a move away from having it all to having a bit of everything."

She adds that it is not just women who would like more variable working days, saying: "I think a lot of men would like a more flexible working structure too."
