Roaming security a top priority

A new poll suggests that the number of mobile workers is on the rise, and e-security will be a top priority for companies wanting to ensure data is protected, an analyst has suggested.

Decision-makers looking for the highest quality mobile working solutions may be interested in observations from web security company ScanSafe.

Dan Nadir, vice-president of product strategy at the firm, has announced that "businesses of all sizes identify remote and roaming workers as one of the biggest weaknesses in their corporate web security," emphasising the importance of adopting the best systems available.

He also commented that the number of mobile workers is increasing, with a recent poll indicating 95 per cent of British businesses stated that at least ten per cent of their staff worked outside the office.

The Register also identifies combating data security issues as a top issue for firms in 2008, further emphasising the importance of secure business communications systems.
