Remote working promoted by Work Wise Week

Work Wise Week has officially begun and is promoting remote working, it has been said.

IT Week website claims managers have been encouraged to adopt more flexible working practices by National Work from Home Day and the coming week's activities.

The Trade Unions Congress (TUC) has also argued the case for remote working, believing employees can concentrate better on their jobs as well as avoid "stressful" commutes by working away from the office.

Brendan Barber, general secretary of the TUC, said it allowed people to carry out activities they are otherwise unable to do on a normal working day.

He continued: "Employers benefit because their staff feel more relaxed and trusted and are likely to get more work done."

It is estimated as many as five million people took part in yesterday's National Work from Home Day.

Employees took part in flexible and remote working, as Work Wise Week promotes the benefits of a better work/life balance through working from outside the office.
