Remote working benefits 'greater than ever'

The benefits of remote working are now greater than ever, it has been claimed.

Phil Flaxton, the chief executive of Work Wise UK said remote working benefits people, companies and the environment.

A home-based office can cut distractions, with a survey by Chevrolet revealing business executives can save four hours per day dealing with unnecessary calls and emails.

Mr Flaxton told the website working from home can also help reduce employees' stress, with the removal of the need to commute improving work/life balance and saving on transport costs.

He added: "It also cuts car use and congestion, helping to reduce their carbon footprint."

It follows assurances by the National Group on Homeworking that home workers will be covered by their employer's insurance so long as the provider is made aware of their individual circumstances.

All remote workers should be fully incorporated within a business' employer liability insurance if this is the case, the organisation confirmed.
