'Increasing expectations' among business mobile users

Business mobile users have expanding feature expectations and are not entirely satisfied with their handheld mobile devices, research has found.

Internet News has reported the Blackberry is particularly popular among users for its email capabilities, with 56 per cent listing it as their best "like feature" in the Change Wares "smart phone" survey.

However, 13 per cent of voters complained the phone had a "slow browser experience".

Paul Carlton, research director at ChangeWare, told the IT news provider he expected "a slugfest" between Blackberry and Apple's iPhone.

"Over time I would expect consumer and business needs to merge. As each brand has tremendous strength it will be a matter of one vendor building over to the other user base".

Research in Motion, the maker of the Blackberry phone, is believed to be in talks to release a new handset that flips open to reveal a keyboard.

The so-called "clamshell" is expected to be more consumer friendly than previous issues.
