Mobile devices 'to include business networking'

Business networking applications will become increasingly efficient on the next generation of mobile communication devices, an expert has claimed. Martin Warner, co-founder of TalkBizNow.com, said the mobile phone sector is at an "exciting" point and could see more services being converged on mobile equipment. In the case of networking applications which allow people to undertake business communications, he said these are potentially more useful when on the move rather than while in the office. Mr Warner added: "People need to communicate for work and they are going to want to email and instant message each other. These are all things that [business networking sites] have." The expert also singled out mobile communication devices such as the new BlackBerry and Google's Android platform as those likely to adopt the applications more intuitively than other, simpler models. According to the Network Citizens: Power and Responsibility at Work report, from independent think tank Demos in collaboration with Orange, firms can grow more easily if business communications allow them to exchange contacts and information.
