'Creative communications' needed

firms wanting to protect their bottom lines will increasingly need to think creatively about mobile communications solutions, according to a new report. Industry analyst Aberdeen Group has today released a study stating the need for effective unified communications strategies, particularly when tackling mobile data solutions. It cites a number of "best in class" companies who have adopted converged networking solutions that allow for increased productivity wherever workers are based. Unified communications strategies also allow companies to ensure that workers are always contactable by some means, the report states. The group recommends that businesses utilise Internet Protocol(IP) functionality to achieve unified network solutions. As well as improving mobility, IP technologies have received praise for improved business security and reduced costs. Paul Taylor of the Financial Times has argued recently that IP technologies can "enable even the smallest companies to deploy an advanced telephone system with sophisticated features quickly and easily."
