Bluetooth device market 'growing'

Businesses should expect more products to be put on the market for Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, according to an expert. PLANon revealed the sector is a growing and portable products are being increasingly used as they are easy to implement and carry around. Jack Churchill, director of Scanning Pens and speaking for PLANon, says: "It's a growing market still and Bluetooth works very well." He adds portable products like page scanners and printers have very few parts so there is little to go wrong. Mr Churchill also states the nature of the technology means it can be used by most people. "I don't think there are any compatibility problems at all at the moment, but it depends on what happens with new products," he says. Security features like passwords to enable the equipment to work have also been implemented, making it safer, he states. Recent research from ABI Research found the penetration of Bluetooth could reach 95 per cent by the end of this year.
