Wireless networking sales 'expected to grow'

Solutions providers expect the sales of wireless networking to grow this year, according to the Everything Channel 2008 State of Technology: Networking survey. Around 52 per cent of the solutions providers surveyed said that wireless networking technologies will be the major growth point in the market over the next year. The report showed that respondents believe the 802.11n WLAN standard will ensure that an "all wireless" era will come into play. Just under 27 per cent of those surveyed said that products based on this standard will experience the fastest growth in 2008. Alan Bryant, director of business development for Teltech Communications LLC, told CRN.com that the introduction of the new standard will play a big role in the success of his firm. He said: "802.11n, there's definitely a play there. Everything is taking off for us." Meanwhile, PCWorld Australia has claimed that the new 802.11n router will offer users a faster service as well as extra bandwidth.
