Technology tops the agenda at Davos

The World Economic Forum begins on January 23rd under the title "the collaborative power of innovation." Around 2,500 delegates from some of the largest companies on earth will meet in Davos, a small ski resort in Switzerland, to discuss the future of their firms, which are estimated to account for some 25 per cent of the world's gross domestic product. GNUnet reports that high on the agenda will be issues such as green power technologies and collective computer networks that respond to global working environments. Executives will join various heads of state and celebrities over the course of the forum, with 39 top businesses contributing to the Technology Pioneers forum, which runs as an integral part of the annual meeting for the second time. Big businesses in Britain are also turning to new technologies to cater for their needs, with two thirds of large UK businesses turning to VoIP technologies for their voice communications requirements, according to a study by Extreme Networks and Data Integration.
