One in ten businesses has switched supplier

A new poll has shown that ten per cent of British businesses have switched their broadband supplier in the last six months. Point Topic, which commissioned the study, found that over a quarter of British companies also reported that were either fairly or very likely to change by August, showing the desire to pursue the best business communications service to suit their needs. The main contributing factor was cost, although client support and quality of service were also prominent causes of dissatisfaction. A spokesperson from Point Topic has suggested that growing dissatisfaction with costs is likely to drive prices down for businesses as internet service providers (ISPs) look to become more competitive. "[ISPs] need to continually improve the quality of their customer service and reliability of their broadband lines," he also advised. The news follows another recent poll by Deloitte that companies will be balancing costs against speed in the coming year to ensure that they receiving a service that is best tailored to business needs.
