For those looking to install secure network solutions, a recent statistic offers sobering reading, according to one publication. According to analyst Hank Marquis of IT Systems Management, 80 per cent of IT functions are being duplicated outside of the IT department, Infoworld reports. This means that a number of workers are developing their own solutions for managing networking and other IT tasks. "You probably know them. They're the ones who installed their own Wi-Fi network in the break room and distribute homemade number-crunching apps to their co-workers on email," the resource comments. However, these innovators need not pose a threat to network solutions, with the publication urging businesses to put them to use in further enhancing their business communications infrastructure. These superusers are identified as a key signifier of inadequate IT strategies who should be talked to in order to encourage enhanced and more efficient business comms. Elsewhere, Phil Flaxton, chief executive of Work Wise UK, has noted that improved mobile communications have dramatically improved remote, mobile and homeworking functionality.
