Comms play "giant role"

Communication technology now plays a "giant role" in how businesses around the world operate, it has been asserted. TMCnet's assistant editor Stefania Viscusi has made clear that while business communications have become crucial it is very important that individual companies understand what kind of solutions can help them. Network solutions and IP telephony can make a business better able to meet the needs of its customers but it is vital to integrate these technologies effectively into an existing communication architecture, Ms Viscusi has suggested. "Because communications play such a giant role in today's businesses, the need for communications solutions that include all the latest features and help businesses to improve their operations, is a must," she said. Last month, IDC's Forecast for Management research claimed that VoIP and document management technology will be among the most popular solutions acquired by chief information officers worldwide.
