Azzurri seals major deal

Azzurri Communications has announced a major managed service deal with Connaught for their entire fixed and mobile voice and data estate. The firm will take charge of Connaught's 6500-device mobile estate, adding to the 2006 agreement between the companies manage Connaught's fixed voice and data. Under the new agreement, Azzurri will use its commercial knowledge of the marketplace to evaluate operational expenditure, operator tariffs and technologies. Lucien Wynn, group information systems director for Connaught, commented the partnership is "proving essential to managing and scaling" the companies IT communications. Azzurri was initially brought in to evaluate Connaught's mobile estate due to the expiration of an existing operator contract. Mr Wynn added: "In doing so it became clear their resource and knowledge of the industry would enable us to consolidate further and leverage improved service and greater cost savings."
