Hosted VoIP could save on business communications

Packaging hosted VoIP services with a call centre could save money on small business communications, it has been claimed.

Call centres, CIO Today reports, could remove the need for upfront costs and allows organisations to operate a virtual contact centre.

Hosted VoIP, the business website explains, offers an alternative to the expensive process of setting up a call centre.

It is believed installing a basic traditional system required for a typically staffed centre could cost up to $20,000 (£10,000).

This upfront cost is eradicated with hosted VoIP however and could save businesses a further 30 to 40 percent, £500-£2,500 per month, CIO estimates.

Caution is noted for companies wishing to change from tradition telephony to VoIP, with the use of professional service for alterations urged.

Bryan Betts, a techworld analyst, recently noted hosted VoIP services can offer businesses inexpensive, full functionality.

Those engaged in remote working can also benefit from the system if locations are made independent, he added.
