Requisite skills

The primary focus of this particular role in the short/medium term will be in relation to the Azzurri Inventory and related products, however going forwards there will be exposure to other systems within the product set of the development team both customer facing and internal use.
The development team may also be responsible for training end users, or more likely super users, on systems when the need arises.

Job Accountabilities

• To develop software to agreed specifications for both customer facing and internal Azzurri needs.
• To do this development to a high standard and delivery it on time.
• To be part of the decision making process on what systems we should develop in house and what we should outsource.
• To document, where necessary the systems that you and others develop.
• To train end users, where appropriate, on the systems developed.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:
o Should ideally have one or more of the following qualifications in a computing focused area: BSc, BEng, HND or MCSD.
• Experience
o At least two years commercial software development experience having worked as a key player on at least one major project (experience of billing, provisioning or xml ordering systems an advantage).
o Experience of application support in a customer facing environment.
• Technical skills
o ASP.NET using C#
o ASP/VB Script
o Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 and T-SQL
• Soft skills and aptitudes
o An ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
o Proven ability in devising & implementing systems from concept through to implantation.
o Must show excellent attention to detail.
o Must be tenacious and have a proven ability to get to the solution.
o There will be a need to travel particularly to the Aldridge office on occasion and also to customer’s sites to discuss system requirements from time to time.
