Description Requisite skills
We are looking to recruit a Project Control Accountant to help us provide accurate and timely information to manage our High Wycombe business which aims to become the benchmark division for reporting and financial management/analysis while going through a significant upgrade of its business and accounting system.
Key responsibilities to include:
• Monitoring, reporting and investigating variances between estimated and actual gross margin on all projects
• Review and adjust accrued / deferred revenue calculations of jobs currently held in Access Dimensions in accordance with various milestones or other appropriate revenue recognition criteria
• Review and adjust cost to complete accruals for current jobs
• Review and adjust the WIP / deferred revenue calculations in the Costing Ledger and ensure reconciliation on a monthly basis to the Nominal Ledger
• Monthly analysis of actuals versus various reporting criteria, such as spend versus budget / forecast
• Involvement with analysis of Stocks & WIP
• Supporting the Senior Management Accountant & working with the Management Accountant
• Assist with preparation for transfer to new system and implementation of the new system
• Ad-hoc requirements to support the work of Wycombe Finance Department including supporting Senior Management Accountant.

• Analytical; Must ensure accuracy of accounting entries and approach queries in a logical manner
• Applicants will need to use time management and organisational skills to complete tasks to tight deadlines and to prioritise work appropriately
• To succeed in this position, a challenging and enquiring nature and skills with people from the other Departments such as Project Operations will be needed
Skills required
• Qualified ACCA / CIMA or ACA
• Experience of working in a project accounting environment
• Working knowledge of Access Dimensions preferable
• Intermediate Excel (minimum) / Advanced Excel (ideal)
• Working knowledge of query and analytical tools such as Microsoft Access, Crystal reports etc.
